Domains & DNS

Add a website domain in cPanel

Create a domain entry and choose its document root before connecting DNS.

Check your plan

Your account must permit the additional domain. Adding a domain in cPanel does not register it or change its nameservers. Decide whether it should display an independent website or share the existing site's files.

Add the domain

  1. Open cPanel and search for Domains.
  2. Select Create A New Domain when the feature is available.
  3. Enter the complete domain name.
  4. Review the option to share the document root. Use a separate root for an independent site.
  5. Confirm the proposed directory and submit the form.

Upload the intended site to that directory. Then follow the hosting instructions to connect DNS and check HTTPS. Do not remove an existing domain or its files as a shortcut to resolving a naming conflict.

Verify

Open the new domain and confirm the intended content appears. If it shows another website, review the document root and DNS destination. Ask support if the domain limit has been reached or the feature is unavailable.
