Create a mailbox on a cPanel email service

Create and verify a mailbox when your hosting plan uses cPanel for email.

Confirm where your email lives

These steps apply only when your plan's mail service is hosted in cPanel. If you use VerbumMail or another provider, manage mailboxes there instead. Creating a cPanel mailbox does not move messages or change MX records.

Create the mailbox

  1. Open cPanel and choose Email Accounts.
  2. Select Create.
  3. Choose the correct domain and mailbox name.
  4. Set a unique password and an appropriate storage limit, using the available controls.
  5. Save the account and review its entry in the mailbox list.

Check it works

Use the account's webmail or connection tools to sign in. Send a message to an external address and send a reply back. If incoming mail goes elsewhere, review the domain's actual mail provider and MX records before changing anything.

Mailbox limits and available domains depend on your plan and server configuration. Ask support before changing mail routing for an existing organization.
