Troubleshoot email delivery
Separate mailbox, DNS, authentication, and delivery problems before changing configuration.
Identify the symptom
Record the sender, recipient domain, time, and full error or bounce message. Check whether the issue affects sending, receiving, or just one recipient. Never include passwords in a ticket.
Check the mailbox and provider
Confirm the mailbox is active, has space, and can sign in through its provider's webmail. Determine where the domain's MX records send incoming mail. A website hosted in cPanel may use a separate email service.
Review authentication carefully
For cPanel-hosted mail, Email Deliverability can report SPF and DKIM problems. Apply the mail provider's suggested records at the authoritative DNS provider. If cPanel is not authoritative, a repair in its local zone alone may not change public DNS. Do not create multiple competing SPF records.
Escalate with evidence
Test with a second recipient and keep the bounce text. Ask support to review persistent delivery failures, a blocked account, or missing DNS instructions. Avoid repeatedly resending the same message or replacing MX records without a migration plan.
