Troubleshooting
Work through a website that will not load
Collect useful evidence and distinguish DNS, hosting, application, and browser problems.
Record what happens
Note the complete URL, time, browser message, and whether other visitors see the same issue. Test another device or network. Avoid sharing login links, cookies, or private configuration files.
Narrow the cause
- Check the hosting service's status in the customer portal.
- Review recent changes to DNS, files, plugins, or PHP.
- If the domain reaches the wrong service, review its authoritative DNS settings.
- If it reaches the right server but shows an application error, check the site's error logs and available storage.
In cPanel, the Errors interface can show recent web-server error entries relevant to the account. Not every application error appears there; your application may maintain its own log.
Recover and ask for help
If the failure followed a specific deployment, restore the known working files or application setting using your backup process. Do not delete the site, reset DNS, or broadly change permissions to troubleshoot an unidentified problem. Open a support ticket with the domain, service, steps already tried, and a redacted error sample.
